BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s basketball team continues its three-game homestand on Monday, February 3 at 6 p.m. against No. 25 Missouri at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
It will be Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night at the PMAC. LSU faculty and staff can reserve their complimentary tickets through the LSU Ticket Office at LSUtix.net.
The Lady Tigers are 12-8 and 3-5 in the SEC going into Monday night’s showdown. LSU’s scoring defense is 15th in the nation and second in the SEC by holding opponents to 55.5 points per game. The Lady Tigers 3-point field goal shooting defense ranks second in the SEC at 27.9 percent. The team also ranks third in steals per game with 9.9 swipes per game.
Junior Ayana Mitchell is shooting 54.7 percent from the field to lead LSU. She is fourth in the SEC in rebounds per game at 9.9 and second with 10 double-doubles on the season. Mitchell also ranks 23rd in the league with 12.7 points per game and 11th in steals per game (1.8).
Senior Shanice Norton is seven points away from cracking the 500-career points mark. She has 493 points going into Monday night’s contest.
Missouri is 16-6 (5-3 SEC) going into Monday’s matchup. The Tigers are led by senior guard Sophie Cunningham and junior guard Amber Smith. Cunningham, who missed last season’s game against LSU with an injury, is averaging 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, and leads the team with 67 assists and 29 steals. Smith leads Missouri with 7.3 boards per game and is second on the team in scoring with 13.0 points per game.
This will be the 12th meeting between the schools. LSU holds an 8-3 lead in the series and won last season’s lone meeting in Columbia, 69-65, on January 4, 2018. Missouri was ranked No. 15 at the time.

Geaux Clear at the PMAC
Fans are reminded that the Geaux Clear Policy will be in effect for all LSU women’s basketball home games. Diaper bags must be clear and no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”. Backpacks, including drawstring/synch bags are strictly prohibited.
Fans with medically-necessary items will be allowed to enter the PMAC following a more thorough search at the designated inspection points. The lower level inspection will take place at the southeast corner entrance near the elevator and upper level inspection is available at the S concourse near the Ticket Office.
